Today was Broxburn's last home game of the season and the squad was down to the bare bones due to several player call-offs. Sauchie opened the scoring first with a first-half strike. Broxburn responded before half-time when the Broxburn Trialist, Barry Nicholson, out jumped his marker to put his header over the goalkeeper into the net.
The second half was at first dominated with Broxburn and it was the trialist again who hooked his shot and placed it beyond the Sauchie goalkeeper. Against the run of play, Sauchie levelled from a good solo run from their number 8. This gave Sauchie a lift and finished stronger but where reduced to 10 men 5 minutes from time, after having a player sent-off for plain stupidity after repeatedly fouling Jamie Dolan in front of the ref, even after his warning. Both teams competed hard and in the end, a draw was fair for both teams.

David Cunningham made his return to Albyn Park in a Harthill shirt but ended up on the losing side. Broxburn opened the scoring with a Barry Craig header from a cross ball in. Midway through the first half, Trialist Neil Portous was sent-off for 2 soft yellow cards and had played well upto then. Minutes later McCann was judged to off brought down a Harthill Striker in the box. For the ref's angle it would of looked worse as Gavin was pulling out of the challenge with the ball running away and Gavin had no chance with the penalty. Broxburn's lead was restored before half-time when Craig stole the ball from the keeper's feet to tap into an empty net.
The second-half seen Harthill equalise from the 6 yard box as McCann was too slow to come off his line to close down the ball. Harthill weren't on level terms for long as Douglas scored his chance to put Broxburn back into the driving seat. 10 men Broxburn continued to be the better team and pushed for another. Barry Craig should of got his hat-trick when his goalbound shot was cleared by a defender a yard from the goal line. From the corner Broxburn got their fourth. Before the full time whistle Harthill where also sent down to 10 men after a late challenge was given a straight red by the Ref.

Smith
Broxburn started out well but found it hard to make any impact on the Fauldhouse defense that has proved to be the best in the league. No goalkeeper really had much to do in this game but it was McCann's error in 40 minutes that sold the game. McCann tried to launch the ball upfield but his pass was taken by the Fauldhouse striker Ian Smith who stroked the ball into the empty net. Fauldhouse where a poor discliplined team who picked up 4 yellow cards by half time and early in the second half where reduced to 9 men when more yellow cards where picked up. Broxburn tried to put pressure on the Fauldhouse defense but had nothing to show for their efforts by full time. The Fauldhouse support showed they where bad winners, as well as bad losers by giving the Broxburn linesman and the referee terrible abuse at the end of the game which really took the shine off a good result for them.

With the Old Firm playing affecting the attendance and poor weather conditions, this tie was never going to be one to remember, especially with both teams with nothing to play for. Broxburn had Fisher missing and Chilton missing again. On the half hour mark, the Stoneyburn keeper shouted to his defender to leave the ball but the ball slowed down and in the confusion Barry Craig nipped the ball away to walk the ball into the empty net for the only goal of the game

Dunbar got the only goal of the game from a corner which Calum Rarity unfortunately headed into his own goals. It was all one way traffic from then for Broxburn which could of seen them with at least 2 goals but poor finishing let them down. The second half seen the referee decide to change the rules for when a goalkeeper can pick up the ball after putting it down. After lecturing the Broxburn manager over his complaints, he fell over backwards much to the delight of the crowd. McCann pulled off a point blank save to keep Broxburn in the game that came from a counter-attack from Dunbar. Broxburn kept on applying pressure on Dunbar but Dunbar held on to snatch all 3 points.

Broxburn scored after 10 minutes from a free-kick cross. Chic Pearson got a faint touch to head the ball into the net. Dalkeith where sent down to 10 men after the referee thought he heard a Dalkeith player calling him names, but indeed the Dalkeith player was refering his comments to a Broxburn player. Before half-time, Broxburn's Trialist scored with a header from a corner. The referee was card happy today and his early yellow cards cost Dalkeith dear, when Dalkeith was sent down to 9 men, thanks to a player receiving his second yellow. Chilton, playing in a midfield position today scored with a 20 yard blast to put Broxburn 3-0 up. Dalkeith where reduced to 8 men when Pearson was brought down with a late tackle. A Bishop cross reached Chilton for him to grab his second and finally Barry Craig scored in the last minute with a chip over the keeper.

(Evening News) BROXBURN couldn't afford any more slip ups if they wanted to stay in the title race and they went straight on to the offensive with a Pearson shot going inches high in the opening minutes, writes John Reilly. The visitors almost took the lead in the 20th minute when a looping header from Martin beat McCann, hit the post and rolled along the line before being cleared. Gibson was also unlucky when he saw his 20yard shot hit the post with Reid beaten. The lively Craig raced past a couple of defenders before unleashing a shot that hit the side netting. Greig Bishop broke the deadlock when he slotted the ball home form a Craig cross. Right on half time Craig and Gibson combined for Chic Pearson to place the ball beyond the reach of the keeper.
Pumpherstons Baird pulled one back in the 66th minute when he beat Young before rifling a shot into the top corner from 20 yards. Broxburn had the ball in the net twice only to be ruled out for infringements. In the 82nd minute Alan Dicov was sent off for a second booking. The visitors where awarded a penalty in the 88th minute when Rarity was judged to be holding his opponent. Kenny Martin scored from the spot to earn a deserved draw.

It took 11 minutes for Edinburgh to open the scoring. After a cross poorly dealt with in the box was headed into space, Gavin was second to the ball and Edinburgh's no.11 easily knocked the ball past the keeper to score into an empty net. More passing play from Edinburgh tore the defence apart with the final ball setting up Edinburgh's no.9 to score in the 21st minute. On the 1/2 hour mark a cross landed to Edinburgh's no6 who had time and space to line up and score for Edinburgh's third. After regrouping at half time, Edinburgh went further into the lead 3 minutes from kick-off with a header from a corner. 2 minutes later and it was 5-0 when a shot saved off the line rebounded to an unmarked Edinburgh player who chose his spot. In the 55th minute Young got Broxburn's consolation goal. No fightback was on the cards at this point and Edinburgh finished the game in the 66th minute with a counter attack tearing Broxburn apart. Gavin saved the first shot but the rebound could of fell to any of the 3 unmarked Edinburgh United players who had an empty net to score into.

Broxburn went ahead in the 37th minute when Chilton dispossed Handyside and fed the ball to Pearson. The striker rounded the keeper before stroking the ball into an empry net. Chilton should have got the second when he hustled the ball off Bile but Woods dived to hold his shot. A defence-splitting pass from Young let in Gibson whose shot slipped past the far post. The second half was played in torriential rain with players finding it diificult to stay on their feet. In the 66th minute Chilton was sent-off for a two footed lunge on McLaren. With in four minutes the game was level again when the home defence gave Fleming time and space to drive the ball home from 18 yards out. The visitors had a spell of dominace which Miller caused a few problems for Ritchie and Rarity without bothering McCann. David Cunningham put his side ahead in the 37th minute when his shot beat Hendrie at the far post. In the opening minute of the second half Dolan hit the bar after Chilton made the chance for him and Chilton then got on the score sheet when he took advantage of some slack defending. Steven Cornwell was sent off for a double booking in the 70th minute and Craig Chilton got his second when he scored a goal identical to his first one. McCann came out to gather a through ball but misjudged it badly leaving Nicky Miller with the easiest of chances to pull one back. Broxburn where up against the league leaders and already this tie could make or break Broxburn's season. Haddington opened the scoring when McCann came out and blocked a shot, but the rebound came to Bowmaker to pass the ball into the net. With Haddington looking to add to their tally, Chilton found himself one on one with the goalkeeper, Chilly shimed past the keeper and was then brought down with the referee not hesitating to award a penalty and a red card to the keeper. Cunningham cooly slotted home the penalty.
In the second half, Haddington tried to keep up the pressure on Broxburn, with offside play breaking up the Broxburn pressure but sooner or later Broxburn had to brake the offside trap and it was Chilton again who ran towards goal to be brought down by the centre-half. This time Chilton took the penalty to secure 3 points for Broxburn. Black was sent off near the end for a straight red after raising his hands.

Broxburn where looking for no slip-ups in this tricky game. 13minutes in and Blackburn burst into the box with Ryan Docherty on the ball. Stuart Ritchie got in his timing spot-on for the tackle and had to be, as a mistake would of costed him a penalty. Broxburn opened the scoring after 21 minutes. John Wilson ran up the right side and knocked it to Craig in the middle. Craig was closed down quickly but the ball found Pearson on the left side of the box for him to knock it in. Broxburn's second came 1 minute later from a 20 yard effort from Young which came off the underside of the bar to make it 2-0. Fortune smiled on Broxburn when a long ball was sent into the box and Sheridan came out to collect but Sheridan pulled out of the tackle but still couldn't help barging into the Blackburn player. The Referee gave a free-kick outside the box and a yellow card to Sheridan. The outcome could of been very harsh but Broxburn weren't complaining with the Ref's decision. 32minutes gone and Gibson picked out Pearson from the half-way line and Pearson scored past the keeper.

WITH a strong wind at their backs Broxburn used the long ball to good effect in the opening minutes. Craig beat the offside trap but his pass to Pearson was short and the chance was gone. The lead was short lived, a defence splitting pass from Robertson found Chic Pearson who gave the keeper no chance from just inside the box. Two minutes later the home side went ahead when Barry Craig smashed the ball into the far corner after Wilson had created the chance. Broxburn went further ahead in the 29th minute when a cross from Craig was volleyed into the net by Chic Pearson. A one-two involving Pearson and Young brought out the best in Greig when he held a Young effort at full stretch. A misjudged tackle by Robertson gave Reid a chance but he hit it straight at McCann. A Mackin pass was dummied by Pearson into the path of Barry Craig who shot high into the net from 20 yards. David Reid made amends for his earlier miss when he lobbed keeper for his second after Halliday had slipped.
