Lee Docherty scored after 15 minutes as he slotted home from the edge of the box. Broxburn went up 2-0 after 32 minutes when a John Wilson cross was headed home by David Reid. Right before half-time Linlithgow had 1 player sent off. Lee Dair was red-carded after a scuffle. Linlithgow pulled one back after a powerful long range freekick from Kevin Byle beat Rab on the bottom corner. For the next 30 minutes Broxburn held on to win. An outstanding result and performance from Broxburn, that players like John Wilson and Greig Bishop, deserve a mention for what they contributed on the day. M.o.m. Andrew Brash (who looked like he had a few bob on Broxburn).

In a sunny evening at Albyn park, Broxburn started well, making most chances. Most notable was an Ian Douglas 20 yard free-kick which bounded off the bar. Andrew Brash had a header saved on the line in the first moments of the game. It was the second half that seen the first of 3 goals. Andrew Brash sent the ball down the line and the ball was flicked onto David Reid who chipped the oncoming keeper (1-0). Almost straight from the retake Broxburn where 2 up when Chris Norris crossed and Tranent's no.4 turned the ball over the line (2-0). A clearance from John Wilson sent David Reid through who hit the bar from inside the box with a powerful shot on goals. Next it was Chris Norris turn to hit the woodwork after hitting the post with just the keeper to beat. At the other end a Tranent chance came from a corner but Rab made a good save to deny Tranent. After more pressure from Tranent, David Sneddon came to the rescue to clear a bobbling ball from crossing the line. To secure the game, John Wilson broke down the left side to cross into the box and Chris Norris scored to make it 3-0. A good performance all-round with good displays everywhere on the pitch. M.o.m. Hard to pick but David Reid for the well taken goal which settled the team.
